Xiaomi will launch its latest flagship offering the Mi Mix 3 in October. The Chinese manufacturer has started teasing the smartphone weeks ahead of its launch. This time around Xiaomi’s product management director Donovan Sung shared a photo of the Mi Mix 3 on Twitter confirming that the phone will support 5G connectivity.
Mi Mix 3: First 5G Ready Phone
Xiaomi shared a 3D render of the Mi Mix 3 a week ago, it was clear from the render that the smartphone will sport a pop-out camera mechanism. Well, Xiaomi has now officially confirmed that their new flagship offering will support 5G connectivity. Consequently, the Mi Mix 3 will be the world’s first smartphone that supports 5G connectivity.
Apart from 5G connectivity Mi Mix 3 will feature many more interesting features. The FHD+ AMOLED panel on the smartphone will feature a screen to body ratio of more than 95 percent. Mi Mix 3 will sport flagship internals and possibly the best camera performance that Xiaomi can offer.
5G Connectivity: Other Major Manufacturers
OnePlus’s CEO Pete Lau confirmed at the Mobile World Congress in, Shanghai China that their next flagship will be 5G ready. Furthermore, the company now hinted that it may unveil its next flagship on 15th January. Well, at the Samsung Unpacked event in August Samsung chief, DJ Koh made it clear that they have no concrete plans of introducing 5G connectivity to Samsung’s next flagship device.
There are many other competitors like Huawei, Apple, Vivo, Oppo that are planning to introduce blazing fast 5G connectivity on their smartphones. We can expect 5G connectivity to become mainstream in 2020. It is worth noting that, 5G provides almost 10 times faster speeds as compared to 4G.
