A little over four months after it launched the Surface Book 2 and Surface Laptop in India, Microsoft has now announced that it’s bringing the Surface Go convertible device to the region. The Surface Go will compete with the likes of the Apple iPad Pro and Galaxy Tab S4 and is currently available for pre-order for a starting price of Rs 38,599.
The Microsoft Surface Go features a 10-inch PixelSense Display with a screen resolution of 1800 x 1200 pixels and an aspect ratio of 3:2. The latest tablet from Microsoft has a fair share of resemblance with its premium Surface Pro. You get a pop-out stand and similar design language which weighs in at just over 520 grams. The display comes with a contrast ratio of 1500:1, a 10-point multi-touch support and there’s a Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the front for drop-resistance.
On the inside, the Surface Go device is powered by an Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y processor with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage. The device uses Intel’s HD Graphics 615 GPU for its graphics performance and Windows Hello and TPM 2.0 for authentication and security.
There’s a 5MP camera on the front and an 8MP rear sensor, both of which support 1080p Skype video calling support. The 2-in-1 convertible comes with 2-watt speakers with support for Dolby Audio Premium, a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a Surface Connect port Surface Type Cover port and a microSDXC card slot. For additional connectivity, the device features WiFi and Bluetooth Wireless 4.1.
The Microsoft Surface Go will be available for a starting price of Rs 38,599 for the 4GB RAM variant and Rs 50,999 for the 8GB version. The device can be bundled with a Surface Go Type Cover and a Signature Type Cover for Rs 8,699 and Rs 11,799 respectively.
