ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 tipped to feature triple rear cameras; launch expected soon

“The ZenFone Max Pro M2 is expected to be the upcoming mid-range stock-Android smartphone from ASUS”
ASUS could soon refresh its mid-range smartphone lineup with the launch of the ZenFone Max Pro M2. The alleged handset is reported to be the successor of the company’s ZenFone Max Pro M1 (review) smartphone that was launched earlier this year. The company hasn’t shared anything about the phone yet, but a famous leakster Roland Quandt has revealed that the upcoming ZenFone Max Pro M2 could sport triple-rear camera setup. He further added that the launch of the smartphone is around the corner.
According to the tipster, the ASUS ZenFone ZB634KL will sport triple cameras on the rear panel. The device is speculated to be one of the variants of the ZenFone Max Pro M2. Quandt claims that only the ZB634KL and ZB631KL models of the Max Pro M2 will sport triple cameras at the back. The other siblings are likely to get dual camera setup.

The specifications of the ZenFone Max Pro M2 are scarce, but the EEC listing last month has revealed that it’ll run dated Android Oreo out of the box. Rumours are that the phone will continue to rock Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset. However, it remains to be seen whether ASUS will stick to Snapdragon 636 SoC or switch to a slightly powerful SD 660 mobile platform. Moreover, it’s likely that the M2 will be offered with same RAM and storage configurations as its predecessor – the ZenFone Max Pro M1. That’s all we know so far.
Meanwhile, there are reports that ASUS is also working on ZenFone Max M2 smartphone. The handset was also spotted on the EEC site, and it is expected to bear the model number ZB633KL. The launch of the Max M2 isn’t expected to happen until next year, but we can expect the Taiwanese phonemaker to release the Max Pro M2 smartphone soon.
