OnePlus will soon unveil its latest flagship offering the OnePlus 6T. Infact OnePlus recently announced its new Type-C Bullets earphones.
These new earphones easily connect to the USB Type-C port on smartphones. This clearly suggests that OnePlus will finally rule-out the beloved 3.5mm headphone jack from the OnePlus 6T.
OnePlus 6T: A Flagship Without The Headphone Jack
In 2016, Apple introduced the concept of removing the 3.5mm headphone jack. Surprisingly, it didn’t even take a year for Android OEM’s to adopt Apple’s path and remove headphone jack from a majority of mid-range and flagship devices.
That said, a few companies like Samsung and OnePlus took advantage and begin advertising the existence of 3.5mm headphone jack as an important feature.

This time around, OnePlus will also ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack from the OnePlus 6T. You might remember, that a few months ago OnePlus introduced the Bullets Wireless earphones, these earphones sold more than the companies expectation.
In an interview with TechRadar, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei said a lot of factors were considered before making this decision.
“We found 59% of our community already owned wireless headphones earlier this year – and that was before we launched our Bullets Wireless headphones.” Furthermore, Carl Pei also stated that removing the headphone jack will free up space and the company could offer new technology on the device.
Consequently, removal of headphone jack will benefit users in one or the other way. We can expect OnePlus 6T to offer an improved battery life and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
OnePlus Type-C Bullets Earphones

The OnePlus Type-C Bullets Earphones can be considered as a confirmation that OnePlus 6T won’t come with a headphone jack. These in-ear earphones offer a metal construction and an aramid fiber based cable.
OnePlus has included a DAC in partnership with Ciruss Logic that offers higher dynamic range, powerful bass, improved signal-to-noise ratio, and a significant reduction in background noise.
